I love bread! I started making bread when I was 21 and working at a Jewish bakery. I loved to watch the baker as they MADE ginormous batches of bagels, challah, rye bread, and Hamenstachen cookies.
When I was in the Army, I found breadmaking to be a great way to relieve stress. Bread was so much more forgiving than making layer cakes or many other sweet baked goods.
I also maintain two other blogs. One is a general recipe blog at Smells Like Delish. After I discharged from the Army I started and ran a soapmaking, supply, and soap training business for over 25 years, and you will find a treasure trove of natural soap, and bath and body recipes (formulas really) over at my Soapalooza Soap Arts Studio blog.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest area of Washington State, but I've lived abroad in the Philippines and Korea as well.
